Here is a list of ship types and information about them in general... This is just something my brother & I are working on. It will probably be tweaked throughout the time we are on here...

Warships Details
Myrmidon- A short range fighter with 2 gun banks and 1 missile bank most are not shielded. one crew member
Interceptor- A long range highspeed high manuverability craft has 1 gunbank and 2 guided missile banks. 4 crew
Corvette- (escort/Short range defensive) Small 8 gunbanks 10 crew. Moderate plating, shielding capability
Destroyer- (Basic large scale combat ship) A Moderate sized, moderate manuverability craft with 3 gyroscopic anti fighter beams, 1 aft 1 starbord, 1 port, 10 other gunbanks, holds 60 crew possible shielding
Frigate- (Millitary cargo/heavy combat) Large vessel, heavy plating, low manuverability, 28 gunbanks, 120crew
Dreadnought- (long range tacticle vessel) Large heavily armoured long range monster equipped with 10 anti fighter beams that fire simultaneously, 4 additional gunbanks, 75 crew.
Starship- (field command vessel) A large ship capable of holding roundabout 150 crew 30 gunbanks and 30 flak cannons there tend to be 2 anti fghter beams and 1 planetary bombard on the front
Starcruiser- (The largest Purely combat ship) A monster, 500 crew, 100 gunbanks, no less than ten anti fighter beams on each side and 3 planetary bombards, these ships are meant to scare the enemy out of war, there are fewer than 20 of these in existance, and for good reason.
Carrier- (think aircraft carrier, only bigger and in space) A massive classification of ship. The small ones can hold as few as 50 myrmidon short range fighters and 300 crew up to the big ones that hold 150 mymidons 20 interceptors and 700+ crew. Shielding is very hard to power for a ship this size but it is possible, the generator needs to be about 1/4 of the size of the ship.

Transport Vessel
Freighter (generic classification for any kind of cargo vessel)
Colonial Vessel
Science Vessel
Star Jumper (small ship usually privately owned... Short Range)
Scouters
Comet (small ship usually privately owned... capable of long journeys... sometimes used for scouting or piracy because they are hard to track/chase... small & fast in bursts)
